Lunar Calendar
Lunar calendars are, as the name implies, based of the moon and its lunar cycles. This is slightly different from the solar calendar which many people use. Though you might believe them to be the same, the calendars are indeed different. They actually meet every thirty three solar years or every thirty four lunar years. This is a very interesting fact indeed. If you do not find this fact interesting than perhaps the origins of the calendars will intrigue you more. Both the lunar and the solar calendar have been around for quite some time.
Solar Calendar
The solar calendar is based on the earth's rotation around the sun. The sun has been in existence for longer than man kind and dominates much of man kind's life. It is the sun and its solar energy that allows humans to do anything and it is the sun that affects the earth's temperature and the earth's season. It is for this reason many have adopted the solar calendar. Though there are other reasons for the acceptance of the solar calendar they will not be discussed here now.
Lunar Cycle
The lunar cycle is the cycle in which the moon orbits the earth. There, in space, are rarely perfect rotations. Most orbits and rotation in space are elliptical and oval shaped. This means there is a time when the moon is close, there is a time that the moon is farther away and there is a time when the moon stays out much longer in the day.
