Gregorian Calendar
The Gregorian calendar is the most widely used calendar in the world. The calendar is based off of the Christian religion and was named after Pop Gregory XIII. This means that he was Pope Gregory the thirteenth. This calendar has an interesting feature. This feature is the leap year which happens every four years. The Gregorian calendar has 365 days, 52 weeks and 12 months. The months are divided up into 4 weeks. The year is divided into twelve months. The normal month in the calendar has about 30 days. The month with the lowest number of days has twenty eight days. The month of the calendar with the most amounts of days has thirty one days.
Gregorian Calendar Leap Year
As mentioned before the Gregorian calender has a leap year built in. The leap year happens every fours year. This year also happens to be on the year that is divisible by four. The leap year does not mess many things up as society has adapted to it. The Gregorian calendar is the basis of all time in most societies today. The calendar is very popular and many have put pictures on it. There are more than four holidays on the calender and many are not directly related to Christianity. This shows that there is little objection to the calendar although some people would prefer a more accurate one such as a lunar calendar.
Custom Calendars
Many people apply pictures to calendars to represent a season. This is a nice idea and can allow people to show off their picture taking abilities. Calendars, by themselves, are very boring. Pictures spruce them up nicely and contrast nicely with the plain grid of the Gregorian calender.
